Our Mission Statement:

How can 2 brothers and 1 dream actually become a reality?
Maybe there is not enough room or time here for a full answer, but for me it contains love mixed with heartaches, accomplishments with failures, smiles and joy seemingly linked forever with tears and pain,  a downward spiral which finally ended with a second chance at life where dreams not only can be followed, but where they can become true. I guess you could say it was a total collapse which gave way to a new life of purpose and passion!
For Derek… you will have to ask him, because I am just the little brother but I do remember... wood spoons leaving marks and dents on mom’s Tupperware, hearing music in his mind, cassettes with the coolest covers, and posters on the wall that sometimes scared me! I was soon to know bands like Led Zeppelin, Rush, The Police, Black Sabbath, and Iron Maiden and know names like Bonham, Peart, Copeland, Nicko, Colaiuta, Gadd, and Smith. I was taught to listen to the high hat patterns, where the drummer was putting the kick and the snare, ghost notes and accents, the different fills and time signatures, and the amazing uses and placements of the cymbals. I was shown not only how to listen to music, but... to love it! Derek became well-rounded in every facet of the craft. He became a student of “drumming” as a whole and a subscription to Modern Drummer for so many years that it actually filled an entire closet, can very well attest to that. Derek did not just learn to play drums, he learned to love them! To me he is a student, a teacher, an expert, and one of the most knowledgeable people on all aspects of drumming as an institution that you could ever meet.
